Holiday food, like death, is the great equalizer. Personally, I gain weight over the holidays in my stomach because I consume more white flour during the holidays than I do the rest of the year combined. Even though I exercise to counterbalance this increased consumption, it never seems to be enough. I always come home a few pounds heavier than when I left, which isn't much, but is definitely more than a horribly self-conscious person (not me per se, but just someone) would like. I make Tuesday morning resolutions to never let my room get this messy again, Sunday afternoon resolutions to never let myself get that drunk again, and other resolutions that occur every day, which I usually break by the next one. I can't trust myself to make a huge resolution on an arbitrarily significant day, though I will admit that this year, I have tried. I'm shooting for twice a year here, rather than every few months when we actually have to be in the same room with each other for more than five minutes. That's what I'm doing now, right? I'm gonna try, but let's be real, if I save $2, it'll be a miracle. I'm horribly unorganized, but I'm graduating in 2015 so this is the year I kinda need to get my sh*t together. Apple cider vinegar has a lot of health benefits (albeit many unproven), including possibly assisting in subtle weight loss. Sweat out the last remnants of 2014. Though apple cider vinegar is one of New Year's Resolutions and this smoothie's secret ingredient, it won't cause any weight loss miracles.
