In fact, Chris admits that growing up, while other kids watch cartoon, he would watch cooking shows of Jacques Pepin and Julia Child. Thank goodness for that childhood, I don’t have to worry about cooking for him! Actually, we both love to cook together, it’s part of our quality time. We also love to cook and eat with family and friends. Over the weekend while we were cooking with TJ, I happened to have a camera in hand so I videotaped Chris making his signature dish, Caprese Salad. On this video, Chris explains the proper techniques of making the perfect combination of tomatoes, (vegan) cheese, basil, salt and pepper. The demo was all impromptu and in the moment so please pardon the not-so fancy shots. Yeah Caprese rocks, very simple to make and tastes sooo delicious! Growing up eating heavily meat based dishes, RG often wondered if there’s ANYTHING ELSE out there that would not only TASTE GOOD but also make you FEEL GOOD (no guilt). Lo and behold, she has discovered the delicious world of vegan dishes! (yes, that’s delicious and vegan in one sentence). Since then, she’s been blogging with fellow Astig, TJ, about recipes they either “veganized” or originally created. Both of them also love to organize vegan potlucks with friends, often kicking butt in the game of charades. They’re also dabbling into the catering world so if you want to have an Astig dish at your party, just give them a holler. The AstigVegan Pinays:TJ is an occasional blogger with Astig Vegan and founder of the short-lived and now defunct blog Tsinay Vegan. They were not made for humans anymore than black people were made for white people or women for men." On the contrary, all exploitation is inextricably intertwined.
