Smoothies for me are a way to get a ton of nutrients packed into a single drinkable glass that I can literally drink during my commute to work in the mornings. Today I’m sharing my top 3 go-to smoothie recipes that will help start your day on the right track. I love this smoothie because it’s basically like a dessert with a ton of antioxidants and protein, perfect as a post workout drink. I’ve always been more of a sweet break-y kind of girl and not like those who can eat last night’s dinner leftovers for breakfast… I don’t know about you but veggies for breakfast just ain’t my thing so when I can add them to a smoothie along with other things to flavour and sweeten it up, I’m definitely a happy camper. Besides being the most convenient breakfast option, smoothies also taste amazing! You can flavour them any way you like and still make them very nutrient dense. My rule of thumb is to always add in veggies, fruit, healthy fats and a protein. Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts not only add amazing benefits like omegas, fiber and protein (even more than chia or flax per serving) but they also add a lovely creamy texture and a slightly mild nutty taste- similar to sunflower seeds.
